1 General Grooming Services
1.1 What services does Pawtero offer?

Pawtero provides full-service dog (New Haven & Bridgeport) and cat grooming (Bridgeport only), including haircuts, bath & brush, blow dry, nail trims, ear cleaning, de-shedding, puppy grooming, and routine maintenance services. Select spa upgrades and specialty services are also available.

1.2 Do you groom all dog breeds and sizes?

Yes. Pawtero grooms dogs of all breeds and sizes, from small puppies to large breeds. We tailor each grooming session to your pet’s coat type, temperament, and needs.

1.3 Do you offer cat grooming?

Yes. Pawtero offers professional cat grooming services at our Bridgeport shop on select dates, including bath & brush, nail trims, lion cuts, and coat maintenance. Availability may vary by location.

2 Appointments & Scheduling
2.1 Do I need an appointment to book grooming at Pawtero?

Yes, appointments are recommended to ensure proper time and individualized care for each pet. Limited same-day availability may be offered when possible.

 

2.2 How long does a grooming appointment take?

Grooming time varies based on breed, coat condition, size, and behavior. Most appointments range from 2–4 hours. We focus on quality and safety, not rushing.

2.3 Can I request a specific groomer or haircut style?

Absolutely. You may request a groomer and provide specific haircut or style instructions during booking or check-in.

3 Pricing & Policies
3.1 Are there extra fees for matting?

Yes. Severe matting requires additional time, care, and specialized handling. De-matting fees or coat resets may apply for your pet’s comfort and safety.

3.2 How much does grooming cost at Pawtero?

Pricing depends on your pet’s breed, size, coat condition, service type, and behavior. We provide transparent pricing and will discuss any additional charges before proceeding.

4 Safety, Health & Handling
4.1 What vaccinations are required for grooming?

Dogs must be up-to-date on RabiesDHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza), and Bordetella (Kennel Cough) vaccines. Cats must have current Rabies and FVRCP (Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia) vaccination for cat grooming services.

4.2 Do you groom senior pets or pets with medical conditions?

We do not groom new clients with senior pets unless they have already been with us before.

We do groom pets with medical needs whenever safely possible. Please inform us of any health concerns before your appointment.

4.3 How does Pawtero ensure pet safety?

Your pet’s safety and comfort are our top priority. Our team uses gentle handling techniques, clean and sanitized equipment, and constant monitoring throughout the grooming process.

5 Coat Care & Special Needs
5.1 Can you de-mat my dog instead of shaving?

Minor matting can often be brushed out. Severe matting may require shaving to prevent pain, skin irritation, or injury. Our groomers will always discuss your option and choose the safest option.

5.2 Do you groom puppies or first-time pets?

Yes. Puppy and first-time grooming appointments are welcome and handled with extra patience to create a positive grooming experience.
